“I read old books because I would rather learn from those who built civilization than those who tore it down.” It is a healthy principle, even more applicable today.
I cannot help but think about the roots of democracy. The cities that started the base of what we today call civilization. Both Greeks and Romans promoted citizens into public offices, after they served in the military and performed public duties. Citizens aspiring to public office had to know what it meant to go to war. War was no abstract concept for Roman officials. Most of them spent years campaigning before ever trying to run for a public office.
Also, they were free citizens, who owned land, properties and were in general well to do. Having something to lose is in general a great motivator for a balanced policy. Also, showing that one can manage one’s own wealth is a great indicator for one’s capacity of managing the public wealth.
We have strayed a long way from those principles. Now, Western democracies have career politicians, who never had to do anything but offer good enough lies to get them constantly reelected. No results, no performance, no real work is needed…. Just good lies.
One such example is Mr. Kevin Kühnert. The head of the Young Socialists, the youth organization of the German Socialist Party. Both of his parents are state employees and he is a proud homosexual AND communist. This is the fist sign of the confusion dominating Mr. Kevin Kühnert’s mind.
If he had any knowledge of communism, if he had read any of the books written by the many victims of this criminal political system, he would be aware of the fate reserved to the homosexuals, by the communists.
But growing up in a safe environment, with a life subsidized from the very start by the German state prevented him from pursuing any of those interests.
Looking onward in Mr. Kevin Kühnert’s resume, we see two attempts at a college degree, both failed miserably… and his political career. Basically, no actual social benefit resulted from Mr. Kevin Kühnert’s existence until now, yet, somehow, he became the leader of the German Socialist Youth…
Now, based on his vast experience in politics and economics, Mr. Kevin Kühnert wants to collectivize corporations like BMW.
Mr. Kevin Kühnert never worked in an actual manufacturing job. He has no experience, practical or theoretical regarding investments, R&D cost, the horizontal development of an economic system or what collectivization generates.
The proud homosexual and communist should at least have a look at the “benefits” brought by collectivization in Eastern Europe. How the work of generations was squandered by people, who never worked a day in their lives (being a politician is no work). How people who dedicated their live to improving the well-being of their families were arrested and their property confiscated for the only fault of being wealthier than the “proletariat”. Or maybe he should read about the Russian peasants, who died in the communist gulags, as a result of owning land.
Nevertheless, Mr. Kevin Kühnert is emblematic for today’s politics. He is a void individual, with no content, providing no value to society, but very confident in his few ideas. Lacking any understanding of history and the painful lessons learned in the past century, the statements of the young politician are borderline-idiotic: Socialism is no “authoritarian concept” and “I am not interested in what the doorbell panel of BMW says. It can be ‘state-owned car manufacturer’ or ‘cooperative car manufacturer’ or if the collective decides that it doesn’t need BMW in this form at all”.
Let’s, for the sake of argument, exchange one criminal dictatorship with another. Let’s say that, instead of being a proud communist, Mr. Kevin Kühnert would be a proud nazi (I don’t capitalize them on purpose). Using this switched polarity, let’s say that Mr. Kevin Kühnert would propose the use of forced labor in German companies. Would this be equally socially acceptable?
The main problem of today’s political scene is its blindness on the left eye. Although guilty of crimes against humanity, although guilty of the death of millions in Eastern Europe, Russia and China, communism is somehow still fashionable. Western politicians like to repeat that “true communism” was never tried. Weren’t all the experiments enough? Weren’t millions of lives enough to put an end to this criminal ideology?
And most importantly, where is the outcry of Mr. Kevin Kühnert’s colleagues when seeing how he is promoting such a criminal ideology?
