Are you looking for more joy in your life? Many people know the feeling that they are dissatisfied too often and rarely really happy.
Often it is above all certain approaches to your daily tasks that may be difficult to overcome at first, but very quickly bring clear results. Overcoming is because we are creatures of habit and changes are uncomfortable. But it is worth it if you can achieve more joy in life by increasing the number of happy moments.
An important factor when it comes to “being happy” is satisfaction with yourself. If you often do things that don’t make you happy and rarely do things that give you great pleasure, then your subconscious tells you that you are bad…
… the worse you rate your own actions, the less you treat yourself to happy moments and your subconscious mind ensures that you avoid them. A classic vicious cycle that prevents the joy of life.
With a few approaches, you can change your everyday life so that you become more satisfied with your performance and yourself and enjoy yourself more.
1. Always focus on the important things first
Please do not confuse this tip with the frequently heard advice to always do the unpleasant tasks first. Of course, important tasks can be uncomfortable at the same time, which is often the case, but it does not always have to be that way.
To increase your satisfaction, always do the most important tasks first . You will quickly find that this makes you proud of yourself much earlier in the day because you have accomplished something with meaning. This increases your self-esteem, so that you then allow yourself more joy in life and it will be easier for you to deliberately create beautiful moments.
2. Be honest as often as possible
This tip also targets your feelings about yourself. Whoever lies often feels worse, whether consciously or unconsciously. The conscious concealment or glossing over of facts also triggers these feelings, which rob the joy of life of breathing.
You can’t always be honest! The job in particular often requires you to lie to people or at least misrepresent things, for example to sell yourself or products / services. But you can still try not to lie unnecessarily. If it seems possible to you, be honest with your superiors and colleagues, but also with your partner, your family and friends.
If someone writes you a message and wants to meet you for the weekend but you don’t feel motivated, answer immediately and offer an alternative appointment. As long as it doesn’t happen all the time, “no desire” counts as an excuse. So you don’t have to walk around with the feeling of holding out to others all the time, which takes part of the joy out of your life again.
– if you are satisfied with yourself, you automatically treat yourself to more wonderful moments!
3. Consciously reward yourself for your efforts
This is a very important step on your way to a more joyful life. If you consciously work on yourself and for yourself, then reward yourself for it. You did a lot of important things during the week and you didn’t have to put up unnecessary burdens from lies, lack of feedback, etc. charged? Then grab your partner, your parents or a friend and off to your favorite restaurant. You deserve it! Feel free to drink a second glass of beer or wine and if both are funny then both 😉
As a reward, you can just hang out on the sofa and watch a movie or series and order a pizza. The main thing is to make yourself aware of the reward. You did something and worked on yourself, so you deserve to do what makes you happy and enriches your life.
Just try to consciously use these 3 tips every day for a week starting next Monday and I promise you that you will feel better. Do this for a long time and you can significantly increase the joy of your life. Have fun and write us your experiences and other tips in the comments .
