Do you still know the show ‘Hypno’ with Manfred Knoke (mid-nineties on Pro 7)? On this show, the hypnotist quickly dropped people into a deep trance and then made them behave strangely (they were a chicken or their hands stuck together, etc.). Not least because of such idiotic representations, hypnosis is still called “magic” and “idiocy”.
It has long been proven that hypnosis as a form of therapy is particularly effective for mental blockages and illnesses . In this article I would like to introduce you to hypnosis as a therapy for relaxation, motivation and overcoming fear of exams and speech blocks. Get involved and get to know hypnosis as a serious, scientifically confirmed form of therapy – whether or not you can make people into a chicken through hypnosis will be left open, I don’t know
Hypnosis is by no means a magic trick, but an accepted form of therapy
What is hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a technique used to induce a sleep-like trance. In standard use, the word also denotes the state itself, which is characterized by deep physical relaxation, while the mind is very focused. A common characteristic of hypnosis is the fact that memories, feelings and knowledge can be accessed during the state, which under normal circumstances are not or only with difficulty available.
Contrary to popular assumptions, it is by no means the case that the hypnotized sand (the person in the hypnotic state) no longer has control ; on the contrary, in trance you can gain very special control over your mind. The consciousness is still fully present during the hypnosis and depending on the depth of the trance you can see everything around you. Here you will find further information on the various areas of application of hypnosis (e.g. as an aid to losing weight, quitting smoking, for pain and much more. ‘). I would like to introduce you to selected applications in this article.
Hypnosis as an aid to relaxation
A deep physical relaxation is achieved through the trance state, which makes it possible to think and perceive very clearly and thus to identify and resolve fears, blockages etc. In hypnosis, the pulse and blood pressure have been shown to decrease, and the concentration of stress hormones has been significantly reduced. This proves that there is actual relaxation.
Hypnosis patients report feelings of security and deep relaxation, which remain effective long after the session. Body and mind feel very relaxed. How deep this relaxation can go depends primarily on your ability to engage in therapy and focus on the session.
Hypnosis as an aid to motivation
In keeping with the main topic of our blog, we also want to go into what hypnosis can do in terms of motivation. Hypnosis therapy has also been shown to be extremely effective in this area. This is reflected above all in the results that are achieved through the use of professional athletes , which must always motivate themselves to perform at their best regardless of their private situation and daily form.
This is where the energetic hypnosis technique (EHT®) comes into play, which uses a combination of hypnosis and other effective treatment methods to solve fears and blockages and to achieve the greatest possible motivation for upcoming challenges.
But hypnosis can not only help you build the necessary motivation in sports. This also applies to everyday work or private projects that require your full attention and performance. Hypnosis can get you to the point where you use your knowledge, time and strength as effectively as possible and get the best out of yourself. This in turn means that you are more satisfied with yourself and your results and therefore happier overall.
Hypnosis as an aid to exam fears and speech blocks
Do you feel uncomfortable, excited, or unable to perform before exams? Are you feeling sick? Do you start to sweat and get your heart racing? You are not alone in this, for example 25% of all students in Germany suffer from exam anxiety . That is as of 2010 and I suspect that the trend is increasing.
Hypnosis as therapy for fear of exams and speech blocks is extremely effective and very quickly effective . This does not mean that you should quickly go to the therapist and get treatment two days before an exam and then everything will go smoothly. Nor can hypnosis replace comprehensive preparation for exams, lectures, important discussions etc., this remains pure hard work.
But hypnosis can help you to solve your blockages and fears when thinking about upcoming tests, exams, presentations etc., thereby making it much easier and more successful to prepare and actually carry out these challenges. Not only challenges that are actually advertised as exams trigger exam anxiety and speech blocks (including fear of speaking, fear of speaking), but also private events to which you attach particular value. For example, a date with a woman, an important conversation in the family, etc. Just find out in a preliminary conversation with a hypnosis therapist (preferably in a recognized practice) how hypnosis therapy can help you with your problems can.
As you can see, hypnosis is by no means just a hocus-pocus, but rather a recognized and effective therapy for treating many common psychological problems in today’s society.
If you felt in this article that you found yourself in some places, you should jump over your shadow and consider hypnosis therapy at least once. A preliminary interview in a hypnosis practice usually costs nothing or little and you may find out that hypnosis can help you. If you can then resolve blockages and fears that have prevented you from moving forward for many years, it was more than worth it.
